Michal Jablonka, PhD.
Prior to setting-up Limerock Advisory early in 2011, Michal had been building his excellent reputation over the past ten years on various positions in the field of credit risk management and transaction advisory.
Within his previous career on senior positions across investment banking and corporate finance businesses he was in particular responsible for financial modeling services, debt related situations and for managing a private equity fund in SME segment with responsibility for deal sourcing, execution of approximately half of investments of the fund, post-acquisition management and fund administration.
Together with Roman, Michal participated in the long-term engagement with regard to Slovakia’s EUR 5bn highway PPP program. In this project, he contributed to the preparation of tender documents, management of the public procurement process and drafting of the concession agreement, especially its parts defining financial mechanisms such as refinancing or availability payments. On top of other duties, this mandate involved also communication with the Ministry of Finance, participation on a road show in the lenders’ community, assistance in amending respective tax, accounting, procurement and other legislation, preparation of documents for approval of state aid by the European Commission, review of the intended deed of guarantee issued towards EIB by the Slovak state, extensive transaction negotiations and participation on the concession dialogue, communication and due diligence support for multilateral institutions and management of the swap rate benchmarking.
Within his previous career, Michal also spent six years in the risk management of Citigroup’s Markets & Banking business in Bratislava, where he was named a member of credit approval committee in 2002. As a head of Risk Analytics Unit, he was responsible for a small team managing the process of credit recommendations mostly for top tier local corporations and financial institutions out of app. EUR 1bn local portfolio, credit structuring and risk rating, remedial management, portfolio reviews and stress testing. There, he contributed to landmark local credit transactions, including underwritten positions in syndicated deals, securitizations of retail portfolios / highly leveraged asset-backed lending to consumer finance companies and long-term acquisition financings.
His previous working experience includes also positions held within Deloitte, a venture capital firm Slovak American Enterprise Fund as well as a 6-month assignment in South Korea related to fund raising from venture capital funds.
Michal holds a PhD. in finance from Masaryk University in Brno.
